2008 - 2009 Strategic Initiatives
The MSCPA Board of Directors is working on "Strategic Initiatives" which we hope will enrich both the accounting profession and the Society. These initiatives are comprised of goals, plans to achieve these goals, and ways in which we can measure results. It was difficult narrowing them down to just five, but I believe that we have grasped the top issues facing you as a CPA, a business owner, a manager, or an employee.

Past and Ongoing Initiatives

How do we increase membership?

The numbers are down for candidates taking the CPA exam:
How can we increase the number of candidates sitting for and passing the exam? As a result of the Society's outreach efforts the regulations for sitting for the CPA were changed; the regulations that allow a candidate to sit for the exam with 120 educational credits went into effect on January 1, 2007. This is no longer one of the Society's main initiatives, however we will continue to encourage candidates to sit for the exam.

Board members and Society staff are working to address these goals and we value your input.
