Using MSCPAonline.org

Welcome to the new MSCPAonline.org!

We are pleased to introduce you to the new MSCPAonline.org. The site was designed by iMarc, located in Newburyport, MA. We hope you will enjoy the new look and flow of the site, as well as the new tools that permit you to personalize your home page. Below are some helpful tips and a brief guide to features of the new site.

Always Log In

Members receive discounts and many other advantages, so make sure you always log in.

My Profile

Here you can update your address, change your email, and create a new password. You will always need your MSCPA ID to log in, but your can now make your password your own. We advise you to make the Edit My Profile link your first stop on the new site, and customize your password. Edit My Profile appears on the right hand side of the homepage under My Preferences.

Make Your Home Page More Personal

Now you can create your own sidebar with blocks for news, committees, upcoming CPE seminars, jobs, legislative updates, and bookmarks. Once you have logged in, click on the Personalize your homepage link on the bottom left hand side of the homepage. Once you click on Personalize your homepage, Manage Your Sidebar & Homepage section will appear in the middle of the page. Just click on the drop down box and choose a block to add to your Personal Home Page. Click on the Add Button to add another block. When you are done, click the SAVE button. A preview of the sections you added will appear on the right hand side of the page.

To return to your personal home page, click on Home Page at the top left corner, under the CPA logo. The entire page will refresh and your new home page will appear with the selections you made on the left hand side of your personal home page. To add or remove any section, click on the Personalize your homepage and repeat the steps above.

Our advice: Add your block selections in the order you would like them to appear and begin using them. If you find a block less useful for your needs, you can always return to the Personalize your homepage link on the homepage to remove that block and, if desired, add another one.

CPE Tracker

The CPE Tracker block is especially helpful as it will give you a total of the credits that you have taken with the MSCPA each time you log in. If you add other courses you have taken outside the MSCPA, you can track these too! When it come time to renew your license, the MA Board of Public Accountancy will accept the CPA Tracker report as a printed record of your credits.

A quick link to My CPE Tracker also appears on the right hand side of your homepage in the My Shortcuts section. The difference between the block and the link? When added as a block to your personal home page, the tracker will poll the database when you log in and immediately display your credit total.

Committees

View your committee(s) from your member-homepage for easy access to committee schedules and committee Web pages. You can add your specific committee to your personal home page by using the Personalize your Homepage link on the homepage and adding the Committee block.

MSCPA Newsletter Subscriptions

Now you can add yourself to MSCPA electronic newsletters like Business & Industry E-ssentials, Legislative News E-lerts, the Public Accounting and Industry Per Diem - Opportunities List, and several others. You can also return to the link and immediately unsubscribe your self from any newsletter. For your convenience, a quick link to the subscriptions page, Manage My Newsletters also appears on the right hand side of the page under My Preferences.

New Bookmarks Option

You can bookmark specific pages within MSCPAonline.org and add any personal external links as well. This is a great time saver and can become a quick way to get where you want to go on MSCPAonline.org and the Web. You may add bookmarks by simply clicking on the green plus sign in the left hand corner of every page (it's located under the navigation bar). Manage your bookmarks by clicking on the Manage My Bookmarks link on the right hand side of the homepage page under My Preferences.

Other useful features include:

  • Fly Down Navigation. The main toolbar drops down and displays the content located within each tab without having to click on the tab or leave the homepage.
  • The News Section is now divided by source of content and will include the categories of AICPA, MSCPA and General News.
  • Members in the Limelight. The homepage will feature photos of members at the Society events held throughout the year.

Useful Tips:

  • Use the Edit My Profile link whenever your home or firm address or your email address changes. Keeping your profile current ensures that you will receive important Society communications in a timely manner.
  • Change Your Password: Customize your password in the Update Profile section. You will always need your MSCPA ID # and your password to login to MSCPAonline.org, but your password can now be of your own choice.

We hope you will find MSCPAonline.org easy to use and enjoy its new features and tools.
