Networking Opportunities

Good networking and relationship building are key skills common to all successful business people. Networking allows members to further their professional development by learning from peers with similar interest-facing similar challenges-and imparting effective solutions.

CPE Events

Sharing knowledge, experiences and perspectives is an important part of your education. CPE events align peers with similar focus-offering opportunities to meet DOR and IRS officials, and talk with other CPAs about how they are conducting business, new technology, successful practice niches, changes in billing methods, etc.

Committee Participation

With over 25 committees to choose from, participants address the many issues facing the CPA profession and shape their CPE curriculum by developing InfoShares (seminars on current hot topics).

Online Forums

These online forums are "discussion threads" for members with similar questions and interests, including taxation, practice management, corporate management, professional issues, etc.

Industry Networking Guides members only

The Industry Networking Guides are a resource for our members working in all industries to connect to members working in similar industries.

"Ask A CPA" Forum

The MSCPA provides the public with an online, comprehensive Tax Center operational from Jan. 15 - Apr. 15 on Boston.com, including helpful articles explaining legislation affecting taxes, tax filing tips, deduction information, etc. Another component of the Tax Center is the "Ask a CPA" forum, allowing the public to submit their tax questions. This "Ask a CPA" forum will be hosted on Boston.com for the first quarter of the year, and then on MSCPAonline.org (the forum will be promoted throughout the year in the Society's institutional advertising campaign). Please e-mail Kara Daszkiewicz at karad@MSCPAonline.org if you, or a member of your firm, is interested in submitting an article or becoming an "Ask a CPA" volunteer.

Consultation Service

The Society maintains a consultation service, providing informal guidance free-of-charge to its members. Members of various Society committees have volunteered their expertise to the Consultation Service. Participating practitioners support and foster a stronger profession.

Key Persons Program

Key Persons are CPAs who recognize the difference that individuals can make in the legislative process on behalf of the profession, their clients, and the public. The Key Person Program serves as the backbone of the MSCPA's Government Affairs team as it ensures that the Society's pro-CPA agenda is advanced, the integrity of the CPA license is protected, and CPAs are recognized as a political force.

The Speakers/Writers Bureau

The Society's Speaker/Writers Bureau serves as the face of the profession by offering perspective and technical insight to the media and special interests groups. Members of the bureau promote the image of the CPA by authoring articles, speaking to groups, and providing interviews for print, radio and television. Public relations is cost-effective and positions the member as an expert in the field.

Financial Professionals Placement Program

The Society helps public companies find qualified CPAs to serve on their board of directors or audit committees. Subscribers receive opportunities by e-mail and reply directly to the company to express interest. Subscribe to the Financial Professionals Placement Program Mailing List to receive referrals.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers share their expertise in a variety of ways as local non-profits recognize the value of a CPA's perspective and technical insight. Enhance your career by volunteering at an organization in need of your financial expertise!

Educational Foundation

Designed to recognize and encourage today's students who become tomorrow's accountants, the MSCPA's Educational Foundation provides financial assistance for programs that benefit students, educators, and ultimately, you.
