Nate Coughran

Nate is the lead instructor at BostonExcel and oversees content development. His teaching style has been described as energetic, passionate, and entertaining. Prior to BostonExcel, Nate worked as an Acquisitions Senior Associate at Gladstone Commercial, a publicly traded REIT, where he focused on underwriting commercial property acquisitions. Prior to Gladstone, Nate worked as an Acquisitions Analyst for the RMR Group, a manager of 4 publicly traded REITs, and as an auditor for Ernst & Young where he focused on the banking and capital markets industry. Nate earned an MS in Finance & Accounting from Boston College and a BS in Business Management from Brigham Young University–Idaho. Nate is a CPA with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Bonnie Kennedy

Bonnie Kennedy

Bonnie Kennedy has over 20 years of experience in the accounting profession. She began her career in public practice with a regional accounting firm in New England, before taking a position as the Controller and CFO of a manufacturing firm. Bonnie is now a full time faculty member at an accredited university. During her association with the regional CPA firm, Bonnie was involved in recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring new staff. She also designed and conducted continuing professional education programs for the firm. After initial exposure to both taxation and attestation work, Bonnie eventually specialized in audits of manufacturing companies and not-for-profit entities. Bonnie has taught accounting and auditing courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels for several years. She has published articles in scholarly journals, and presented her work at national conferences. Bonnie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs.

Amy Pitter

Amy Pitter is president and CEO of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs (MSCPA) where she is dedicated to serving the Society’s 11,000 members in public accounting, industry and business, government and education. Since joining the MSCPA in 2015, Pitter has advocated for increased diversity in the accounting industry and has developed new initiatives to make progress in this area, including launching programs for high school students in gateway cities and sponsoring scholarships for low-income students to study accounting. She was named one of 2018 Most Powerful Women in Accounting by CPA Practice Advisor and has been featured in several news outlets, including Accounting Today, Boston Business Journal, Commonwealth Magazine and The Boston Globe.

Cameron Shilling

Cameron Shilling is a director at McLane Middleton, Professional Association where he is the chair of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Group. In addition, he has also worked for over 20 years as an attorney where he has litigated and resolved numerous data security, technology and complex litigation matters throughout New England and around the country. Shilling’s depth and breadth of experience in data security includes managing risk assessments and audits, preparing and implementing written data security policies, training executives, managers and employees on data security procedures, addressing day-to-day security issues and investigating and remediating security breaches.
