Ninth Annual MSCPA Day of Service

03/07/2019

Every year the MSCPA holds a CPA Day of Service - a perfect opportunity for your organization to come together as a team, give back to the local community and unite with other members of the CPA profession! The MSCPA's Ninth Annual CPA Day of Service will occur on Friday, June 7, 2019.

What is the MSCPA Day of Service?

The Day of Service encourages MSCPA members to get involved in their community through volunteerism projects. This year we have partnered again with Cradles to Crayons - a nonprofit organization that helps children in need across the Commonwealth. They will be holding a "CPA Industry Day" for MSCPA members on Friday, June 7, 2019. Members volunteer in shifts between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and/or 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

How Does The MSCPA Day of Service Work?

Volunteers must follow these steps to participate:

  1. Select a cause — Choose an organization to work with.
  2. Contact your charity — Contact your chosen organization immediately to find out what opportunities are available on the selected date (some charities have limited space and opportunities available).
  3. Sign up by Friday, May 31 — After you have chosen and contacted an organization, fill out this online form to officially sign up for the CPA Day of Service.
  4. Participate on Friday, June 7 — Show your pride and the generosity of the CPA profession by serving your community!
  5. Follow-up — After your Day of Service is complete, send pictures and feedback of your event to hnaranjo@mscpaonline.org. They will be posted on our website and used in media outreach to show what a difference Massachusetts CPAs made.

Sole practitioner or individual volunteer? No problem - contact Hannah Naranjo to participate in the MSCPA's volunteer project.

How Do I Choose an Organization to Help?

If you don't already have a standing relationship with a charitable organization and you are looking for a good cause, the MSCPA has a few suggestions. Or, reach out to your local schools, libraries and community organizations to learn how you can get involved.
