CEO CORNER

Dear Hannah,

Last week I had the pleasure of presenting at “Perspectives on a Changing Profession,” an MSCPA sponsored luncheon for educators. Seventy faculty members representing 29 institutions gathered to learn about changes in accounting, and ways to adapt their curriculum to prepare students to be successful in the new profession. Attendees also heard an update on changes in the profession and a panel discussion where educators described the solutions they are developing to increase business and soft skill development, and data analytics and technical skills. Thank you to MSCPA members John Micalizzi and Len Pepe, CPA and to Tim Mitchell and Charlie Bame-Aldred for their participation! It was a wonderful event, and the information will truly benefit the future leaders of our profession.

Speaking of students, the MSCPA’s Educational Foundation has received double the number of applications to our scholarship program this year – which, unfortunately, means we won’t be able to offer scholarships to many deserving students in need. If you have not donated, either as a firm or individual, please consider making a contribution. There are a lot of bright young minds who could use your help! To make your contribution,
please visit our website or contact Barbara Iannoni at biannoni@mscpaonline.org

Have a great weekend!
