Friday@Five
has arrived!
CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

The 2019 PCPS CPA Firm Top Issues Survey found that "finding qualified staff" was the number one issue for every firm size (except sole practitioners). To help firms retain high potential, entry-level candidates and interns, the MSCPA will publish the 2019-20 MSCPA Firm Guide, which will be distributed to approximately 2,500 college students and career centers across New England this fall.

I strongly encourage firms to join the Guide to attract talent outside of your normal recruiting efforts. We consistently hear from students that the Guide is their go-to resource when looking for employment, and the online version is one of the most downloaded files on our website. To renew your listing from last year, or to place a new listing, click here. If you have questions, please contact Erica DeBiase at edebiase@mscpaonline.org. The deadline to sign up is Monday, July 15.

In addition to helping firms find qualified staff, we also want to recognize outstanding members in the accounting industry. As a reminder, nominations for our 11th Annual Women to Watch Awards are due by Monday, July 1. Award winners will be selected based on their contributions to their firms/companies and communities, and awards will be presented to both emerging and experienced leaders at our Women's Leadership Summit this fall. Please click here to submit your nomination(s). To learn more, click here or contact Hannah Naranjo at hnaranjo@mscpaonline.org.

Lastly, the Society's office will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and the next issue of Friday@Five will be on Friday, July 12.  Have a great weekend!
